I say paint the grill and leave emblem chrome.

If you want it shiny finish you need to get it professionally painted. If you want that "flat" or matte looking finish you can do it yourself with spray cans that cost less than 20 bucks.

I like the "black chrome" look for the grills- like what's on some of the M45s. It darkens it up but keeps it shiny. And it looks semi factory.

nah i had an emblem for days and i didn't like it cuz everything is smoked out but rear emblem was way to bright. i love it the way it looks then that i expected. (i used to be haters as well)

... not sure of the price. But if you go to a body shop they could give you a quote- my guess is prablably no more than $250. They will have to prep the grill since it already has a chrome coat on it and that will probaably add to the price.
