Talking New G37s 6MT. Opinions on first batch of mods?

Hey all. Picked up my 09 G37s 6MT last week. Loving it so far!

I've been looking around for some CF parts. Being new to the whole JDM thing wanted to get some advice from the pros. Any recommendations for where to purchase quality CF parts? Looking specifically for grille, mirror covers, rear spoiler and roof spoiler. Haven't had much luck finding on my own.

Also looking to change out sway bars. Stillen or Hotchkis?

Thanks!

Welcome and congratulations.

For CF I would stay away from Mastergrade and you will see why once you do some research on here.

CF grille - IvoryGT has the best one going right now

Mirror covers - Not out yet

Rear Spoiler - I think Mastergrade is the only one and it is a PITA to install.

Roof spoiler - Couple companies make but none in CF that I know of

Hotchkis seem to be the favorite sways but IMO the Stillen are just about as good for a lot less.

Thanks for the advice! Contacted IvoryGT.

You wouldn't happen to be the same Kidcane from e90post a few years back?

This may be a stupid question, but what are CF parts? and I always here JDM being thrown around, what is JDM? Is that making your car look like it's some kind of Nissan?

CF = Carbon Fiber, Lightweight exterior piece, Very popular material but really expensive.
JDM = Japanese Domestic Market, JDM = Right hand drives, Nissan Skyline 370GT, People like to rebadge their car as if they lived where the car originates from.

When they say 34% stiffer, do they mean the actual sway bar, or that it makes the car ride stiffer?

I'm concerned about city driving with any suspension mods. Dirt roads are better than the streets of NY.

Okay cool got it. Thanks Sometimes I just need someone to hold my hand and navigate me through the intricacies of Japanese car lingo.

Ride quality shouldn't be affected by sways, you can just turn better

your baby is really cute!

i have the stillen sways and they work great.. and they're also cheaper than the Hotchkis sways

IvoryGT has the CF grill..

there are no CF mirror covers or roof spoiler but u can go aftermarket CF racing mirrors from APR

Seibon makes CF stuffs for our cars as well, trunk, spoiler (i forgot) etc.. and I've heard bad fitment problems with them as well.

when they say stiffer means it's tighter, as u would feel it too. not the actual sways. it is adjustable.. but i would set it to medium.

Do a research on the forum and u'll find a lot. Good luck!
