Quick Paint Question

So I'm repainting/powdercoating some things on my car this week, and I just wanted to know the difference between matte black and satin black, if there is one? Thanks.

A satin paint finish has a "dull sheen" to it compared to a glossy finish if that makes any sense, mate is flatter with much less or no sheen at all.

The lotus and the 430 look satin whereas the top ferrari looks matte IMO.
