Question Destroyed Spoiler

I had a spoiler added to my G37 yesterday, I asked the dealership to save the old chrome one and let me have it after they take it off. I arrive today to pick up my car, they say it was destroyed when they removed.

For those of you that have taken off the chrome spoiler, how hard was it to not destroy it?

Just wondering if i got ****ed around at the dealer. Thanks.

i thought you dont need to remove the chrome spoiler to install a add-on. from what i can tell, my chrome one is still underneath my oem add-on.

i've seen a few threads between the 07 sedans and the 08 coupes where people have removed the strip. i don't recall seeing anyone mention the process being that difficult.

Thanks.
Wowzzers! If you did this when you first dropped the car off and that's what it sounds like, I'd say they are obligated to replace it...

They are lying. This is classic stealership move. Friend left his wheels there for a day and came back and they are no where to be found.

lol how can they destroy the spoiler.. without destroying the trunk around the spoiler?

take down your trunk carpet and look behind it, see if they made a mess back there or something

ask them where its at, you want to see it. if you say they threw it away, tell them to pay you another one. they had no right to "throw" away your things.

tell the service manager that you are going to call corporate if they do not replace the chrome spoiler.

Alright, thanks for all the input guys, I definitely feel shafted by the stealership. What do you suggest my next action is? Email the service manager? What should I say? They owe me a piece of the car I bought for 40k, and if they destroyed it, they owe me a new one?

By the way, the carpet in the trunk looks flawless, they did a good job installing the spoiler but left some streaks of goo under it. No big deal, I'll clean it up, along with wiping down the entire interior because they didn't do that either when they prepped it. I bought from a dealership in Houston, just so you know. PM me if you want to know the details about the dealership, so you can avoid it too.

Yea definately should not be destroyed. Its simply 2 screws and 2 clips I think or 4 screws and 2 clips. But should not be destroyed at all. And if it was, ask them to replace it... because they should know how to take it off with out destroying it.

THe spoiler is SUPPOSED to be in place of the chrome lip, it should be easily removed its just bolted in with a few screws.. They should deffinately replace it for you, sounds to me like they're trying to steal it from you to sell.
