By the way, the carpet in the trunk looks flawless, they did a good job installing the spoiler but left some streaks of goo under it. No big deal, I'll clean it up, along with wiping down the entire interior because they didn't do that either when they prepped it. I bought from a dealership in Houston, just so you know. PM me if you want to know the details about the dealership, so you can avoid it too.
i'd still take down the carpet and see what exactly is behind it. it's really easy to do.. all you need is a flathead screwdriver and a few mintues

I think according to the service manual some doublesided tape is also used on the front-edge.. so unless while prying it off they massacred it..

Otherwise, if its an aftermarket spoiler (which i know a few them go on top). Show us some pics and we can tell if its an aftermarket or OEM.

Bottom line is if they admitted to destroying the original chrome trim, I think they OWE $$ for it. When you pay a shop to mount some new rims on, they dont keep/destroy your original ones and get away with it...

Ok, I sent the email, just waiting to hear back from them. I should be able to get some picks of the spoiler this weekend. Here's the email:

Joe Salesman,

I am satisfied with the installation of the new spoiler. However, I still want my original spoiler. If it was destroyed, as Service is telling you, then someone will need to order me a new one. I payed for the entire car, including the stock spoiler. SW Infiniti can reimburse me for the destroyed spoiler, the part is $231, so I will accept a check made out to that amount.

By the way, if someone did destroy this spoiler, thats pretty amazing, and you might want to reconsider their skills as a technician, the spoiler is simply held on by a couple bolts and some clips, I do not see how anyone could have such trouble with the replacement.

Let me know something soon. If I don't hear from you, I will come up to the dealership some time next week to discuss further.

Thanks, you are probably right about them ignoring it. I put a return receipt on that bad boy, so I will know for sure. I thought about ccing the Exec Mgr, I will forward this to him if I don't get something back soon.

Interesting because when mine was installed I asked about the chrome piece and I was told that it stays on the car. That the non-oem spoiler just goes right over it. Now that was the guy who was doing the install which was a vendor for the dealership and not the dealership itself.

Did anyone else get told this?

JD... was this the OEM version or the non-oem version?

lol... wouldnt this be funny if it was the non OEM and the NON backup cam and the chrome piece is really under the new spoiler? And the sales guy looked for it and couldnt find it so he told you that it was destroyed... If this is the case... I will trully LMAO!!

I think that it is the non OEM spoiler. No light, no backup camera, but I can't see any chrome under it.

And yes, I will probably have to go up there, I just want to give my saleman a heads up before I start cracking skulls.

Eh, I can't really see under it, Max, but I inspected it pretty hard. Anyway, if it is underneath the new spoiler, I guess I don't have much of a case anymore. Do I?
