Dealer Installed Non-OEM Spoiler (pic)

This is the spoiler your Infiniti dealer will install over the trunk lid chrome trim. Notice it's a non-lit version. This is an Infiniti product covered under the car's warranty if installed by an Infiniti dealer. The spoiler has an eyelet to accomodate the reverse camera so the view is not obstructed. Obviously if your G37 didn't have the factory option, then you'll have the rear deck panel mounted brake light so no need for the redundant light on the spoiler.

Well like I said, it's not the factory option version. Dealer said this is the OEM dealer-install version. But let's say the dealer was lying. A couple of things: First, dealers typically don't install third party spoilers. I tried that with my wife's Lexus IS350 but the dealer wouldn't install anything but OEM. But I really don't care since I have it in writing the spoiler is covered under the factory warranty. Second, I didn't want a spoiler with a brake light built into it if there's already one on the rear deck of the car. That would look crappy.

no dealers will install stuff. lots of them claim its OEM b/c they install it but they but it from someone else.

I know a dealer was saying he installed 3 seibon hoods on 1 car but the 1st 2 sucked so kept sending them back. They will install stuff, just depends on what they are telling you. Dealers are in it to make money so be careful what u buy from them thats actually OEM.

flip side looks GREAT

Goo-gone followed by a polish and a wax. Was is a must, polish is one more step to give it that glossy look

I hear ya. Thanks for the compliment. I just got the G37 this past weekend and I asked them to throw in the spoiler to be covered under factory warranty. They had the exact model, color, equipment combination I wanted minus the factory spoiler so I went for it.

Sorta..

-Fishing line
-Goo gone sprayed directly onto the remaining adhesive
-Let sit for 5 minutes
-Rub adhesive lightly with your fingers (towels and rubbing too much with a lot of pressure will remove the clear coat)
-Wash the area (or entire car, up to you)
-Wax the areas that were covered by the badges.

Also, the spoiler looks great! Could you take more pics from different angles as well?

They would have taken the rear deck light out if they installed the OEM spoiler. OEM looks better than the Grubbs IMO. Really depends on the color of the car whether a spoiler looks good or not to me.

Do they really look different? I thought they looked pretty much the same. I guess I did not pay attention.

Its apparent to me. The Grubbs comes down more and its more wedge shaped. OEM is more boomarang shaped all the way across.

that is not the grubbs version either. the grubbs version is closer to oem and comes with a red led third brake light. the one the o.p. has was one of the first aftermarket spoilers that dealerships were installing for those customer who wanted a spoiler. the spoiler pictured here doesn't look as wide or broad as the factory unit. also looks a little taller too. not bad though.
