Wiper Blades

It seems that every time I use my wiper blades the driver's side seems to skip and bounce. One day as it was raining hard, the blade insert starting coming off due to all the skipping and bouncing and I shut down the wipers for fear that I may lose the insert completely. Has anyone else experienced this, and what is the fix?

I plan to take it to the dealer to get it checked out when I go for my first oil change. I was wondering if anyone knew of a quick solution that I could implement in the mean time.

Thanks
Jim

as far as skipping, it might be bout the pressure the wiper is pushing down on the glass.. so u can try to hold the wiper down a little as you turn it on and is if that's the case, and if it is. just get the dealer to tighten it up if u dont know how or if u do, oh yay

OK. I'll give that a shot.

How do you tighten the blade so that it exerts more pressure on the glass?

Update...

I just found out that what was making my wipers skip and bounce was a protective sheath that comes with the car when it's shipped to the dealer. I found out about it by accident when I called the dealer to make an appointment for my first oil change. It appears that it is a yellow covering and must be removed from the wipers to make them operate properly. I'm wondering if that was something the dealer should have removed prior to my taking delivery.

if you are still having chattering issues, replace your blades with Bosch Icons. Best wipers ever.
