Yea, like I said in my other thread that i'm just about ready to go for the gunmetal. I'm actually going to the shop next week that i'm gonna be taking the wheels to and getting some samples of the colors and finishes they have. I'm still looking to find a color that is directly in between gunmetal and black. The shop told me that the darkest gunmetal they have is 3 shades above black.

That's a nice gunmetal, but it's still way too close to the color of the car.

This is the color i'm actually going for (there actually a bit lighter than they are in picture but this pic was from my iphone):

Update...

So I finally picked up all my overlays from bat this past weekend. I'm trying to get them installed by Ryan this weekened but he's got enough cars already. I'm also planning to paint the grille soon. I'm finally gonna have time this friday to go the wheel shop to see the colors they have available for powder coating. I'm still not too sure about the color yet. I'm about 80% sure on dark gunmetal. Here's a good comparison of what I want:

The color's not too clear on this picture since it was off my iphone. This is the color i'm going for:

These are better pictures of the GTR that's close to platinum graphite with black wheels:

Let me know what you guys thnk from seeing comparisons.

Also, if you're thinking about getting the roof overlay from Bat/Ryan, PM me for a review.

It's called Mag Masters. They're located in Santa Ana. If you really wanna do get it done there, maybe we can go and get a better rate if we get them done at the same time.

I already have the overlays, I just need them installed. Who did you get your's installed by, or did you DIY.

BTW, what color do you think I should go with the wheels between the 2 comparison pics?

How much are they asking? I really like the darker gun metal on the GTR and actually on the IS-F too. I went to test drive that last weekend, and really liked the stock rims on those if you've seen it in person.

I got the roof overlay done by a shop in so cal. Great job, referred another forum member already and he gave some really positive feedback as well. 100 for complete install including labor. 1 piece + shark fin to cover the entire roof.

Yea, the IS-F rims look really close to ours already. I've seen them on a blue one and a black one. I'm really trying to get that GTR color though. But the shop told me that the darkest they have is 3 shades above black. I'm also trying to play around with different finishes to see if that helps out with the color. They're asking $75 per whell painted or $85 powdercoated, $10 extra for another coat of clear.

Excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between painted and powdercoated?

So I guess we're looking at ~400 total, hmmmm.

Powdercoating bakes the paint.

The advice I was going to give the original poster was to make sure our wheels will retain their structural integrity after being subject to the baking heat. Some wheels do not. I would try to find out how much knowledge the shop has in this area (and it usually only concerns wheels). And, if it was me, I would try to find out from NNA whether these wheels can withstand powdercoating baking without losing structural integrity.

Powder coating is where they basically bake the color onto the wheel. It's usually better quality and lasts longer. Painting is just like when they paint other pieces, where they just paint the wheel, clear coat it and let it dry.

Hopefully if you want to do this we can take our wheels in at the same time and get a better price.

This shop has been around for years, and they specialize in restoring older wheels, so I know they're very knowledgable since it's all they do.

I wasn't suggesting you make sure the shop knows what it's doing. I was suggesting having the shop make sure the Infiniti wheels can withstand the heat. Many wheels are not built to be baked without losing their structural integrity.
