Trunk won't stay closed

Has anyone had problems with their trunk not staying closed. I was cleaning my car yesterday and only opened my trunk to take out my book bag and when I tried to close the trunk it bounced off and didnt close. After a couple of times doing this I pushed down on the top of the trunk and it finally closed. I thought everything was fine until I started to drive and as soon as I went over a little bump the warning light came on saying trunk is open. I got out and shut it again but as soon as i went over another bump it popped open again. So now my trunk won't stay closed and it really sucks....anyone have something like this happen to them?

Nope, the latch sounds like it is not working or it is loose. Take it to the dealer.

Check your bag, you probably have your extra key in it.

The trunk won't close if it senses the key is inside (or maybe on top) of the trunk.

Maybe someone had your other key fob and kept screwing with you while you were driving off.

If it's not the above, then sounds like a latch failure to me. Either you have something stuck on your latch, or it's defective.

Haha....i wish that was the case that someone was messing with me but my extra key was at home and I was at school. I guess I will have to take my car to dealer to have it checked out. I hope it doesn't fly open while I am driving over to the dealer though haha.

Rob, it is that body you left in the trunk. The guy is still alive and pulling on the trunk release as you drive. Remember you have to hit him over the head harder.

Hapened to me one day. And only one day. was going to get it checked but it never happened again. So your not allone in this. But ya if the fob is in the trunk it will not close. I tried this at the dealer and he near had a sit because for some reason they only had one fob for the car on the lot.
