llumar vs huper optik question

Am about to get my car tinted and had an appointment seup for today from a place that uses llumar tint. There is a spot locally that can do huper optik but they would have to order it. I have been reading that llumar is metallic and can affect Gps and other things. Am a little nervous to have this put on my car and would be willing to pay the extra for optik if needed. Anyone had any experiences with llumar? Thanks

No problems with LLUmar affecting anything radio/or GPS. In fact the antenna is on the top of the car.. yeah.. Go for the LLumar, cheaper and its just as good.

You're fine to go with metallic on the side windows. If you listen to AM radio, you may consider a ceramic as the AM antenna for the G37 is in the rear window (like the G35).

I have metallic on the sides and ceramic in the rear and have had no problems at all.

Metallic will pose no problems for you.

the antenna for terestrial radio is in the rear windshield facing out, so metallic behind (or underneath) it will not affect your radio.

GPS antenna is in the front dash, so metallic on the sides will not affect this. If you intend on having your front windshield tinted, make sure to use ceramic here only if you have NAV. if you do not have NAV, then metallic on the front will suffice.

I thought the GPS antenna was the small hump at the rear of the roof, just ahead of the window?

^ that is the XM receiver. But I have 20% Llumar tint all around (excluding windshield) and my nav/radio work fine
