haha, newb question...can someone explain to me what this dot matrix thing in the rear window does?

i keep reading about how hard it is to tint over it. one guy on tintdude.com forums who posted a sticky said that there is no dot matrix on our cars...is that true?

There is. Many tint places say tint won't stick the dot matrix but it can be done with a quality tint job.

Not sure of the purpose of the dot matrix, but the G37 has a very very small dot matrix line covering the edges of the rear-side and rear windows (less than 1/4 inch in width). A good tint guy can work with the dot matrix with little problems.

Haha, okay so far I've heard 2 yes and 1 no.

I have dark tint on my Accord and I don't see any sort of dots when looking through the rear view mirror on a normal day...BUT, when I put my sunglasses on and look, I see a bunch of small circles pattered all over the rear windshield. is that the dot matrix?

I tried going to www.whatisthematrix.com but all I got was some dumb trilogy of Keanu Reeves movies...

That effect you are seeing is the result of viewing through polarized lenses on your sunglasses.
