Auto Headlamps on Upon Approach to Vehicle

I have noticed this a couple of times now but I cannot purposely get it to duplicate:
After dricing my car during twilight, I stopped by Circuit City for about 5 minutes to pick up something. I come back out to my car and press the unlock buton on my keyfob and my headlamps come on... I was thinking ahhh cool but I could not get it to duplicate when I wanted it to.

Then this morning after detailing my car, I pull it ack into the garage. I go back to the carin about 20 minutes and press the unlock button on my door and it does it again.
Does anyone have any insight on this. I read through the manual to see how it works but I found nothing...

weird, i never use the key fob i only open the doors with the handles. I hate the auto light system though. The nights never turn on when needed i.e. in rain when its semi dark....

well it was kinda dark in both cases. It's just that I couldn't get it to duplicate under similar conditions. I even turned off all the lights in my garage and then tried unlocking the door in various ways and the lights did not come on. I didn't think that it had the feature to turn on headlamps upon approach from the outside. But the car did it twice what seems like randomly so I was just wondering if there was a controled method to accomplish it or if my car was just being psyco.

Just curious, you wouldn't happen to have hit the panic button (with your thumb maybe) for a sec just before pressing the unlock button (thereby canceling your panic request but not before the headlights went into action for a bit)?

I haven't had that happen to me but I was hoping that it had this feature?! Kind of weird that they don't. I know in the NAV you can set the auto headlight sensitivity. Maybe there's another feature that you have extra on yours (if it's one of the first releases) that I don't have on mine like the damn climate control!
