Fuse Tap Question

I’m installing a A139 Pro Dashcam. Does it matter what orientation that “ actual “ fuse goes inside the slot of the fuse tap? Ik the old fuse goes on the bottom.
I’m saying my ACC fuse is 20A but it’s upside down in the fuse box so it looks like 02, where the left side gets power so the 0 of the 20 would be getting power. Does that mean I would put it the same upside down when I slide my fuse in the fuse tap. So the 0 part of the 20 would be on the outside of the fuse tap

No, fuses are not "directional" components so it doesn't matter which way they're inserted. All they do is limit the amount of current allowed to pass through by using a small specific size or type of wire internally between the two connectors. If the current draw exceeds the rating, that small wire overheats and literally burns the connection. Thus a "burned out fuse".

True, the fuse is not directional.
but the "tap" is.
If the accessory you're adding doesn't get power, flip the tap over.

Orientation does not matter, if unsure you can always put a positive and negative lead to a multimeter and test continuity, quick 1 min check

Unhook whatever accessory you are trying to add and replace the original fuse without the tap.
ignition work? Good
Figure out why the accessory shorted. That fuse did it's job.
Still no ignition? ****, time to figure that out before continuing on with the accessory install
Note: don't tap into the ignition circuit next time.
