First post I've started. Based on info from this awesome website I changed out the sunroof drains, changed my air filter and fixed a stuck seat adjuster on the driver's side.

When taking out the rear carpet cover things and cleaning out under the driver's seat, came across this Xtreme box. The person I bought it from a few months ago was reselling it, never mentioned this. It only came with one factory FOB and I've since programmed another, no remote start-type FOB.

Can anyone tell me if this Is a remote starter system?

If so, any chance that a local remote-install company could make it work?

I generally hate aftermarket remote starters and if these are problematic on G's, I wouldn't mind having it removed. However if they're pretty reliable, it gets crazy cold here and it would make a big difference for morning comfort!

It is not a remote start kit.

Based on the https://www.xtremecables.com/ website, I would guess the previous owner had some type of LED lighting gimmick installed.

In the future, should you want to add remote start, the Fortin Evo kits are popular with these cars.

 

Thanks ILM-NC. Not a fan of LED gimmicks at all, good to know.

Will look at the Fortin Evo if I go that route.
