Help Battery draining/Navi DVD unit reading issue
Battery draining/Navi DVD unit reading issue
Hey guys,
Please help me to solve the following problem with a 2008 G37.
My navigation system won't load, can't read the dvd, sometimes it will automatically eject itself, throw a disc read error, or just show that it's loading and never load. As a result, it won't even let the car go into standby mode after locking it, so it keeps draining the battery (about 1A). First the navigation unit was cleaned, then it worked for 2 days, then after I put the plastic cover in the trunk back on, it won't load the dvd again. They also replaced the reader in it, but that didn't solve the problem either. All other functions work (radio, air conditioning, bluetooth connection to phone, etc.). What is also strange is that sometimes after starting the car, the radio function does not turn on, but it seems as if I am on the phone (the phone volume signal appears on the display). After restarting the car, the radio function turns on. We tried another dvd of the same type (which was supposed to be good) and that didn't work either. As soon as I unplug the unit, the power consumption disappears, but I can't find out what is causing the problem, because in this case the whole circuit is off.
What do you think is in the background? Unfortunately, the electricians are guessing, they don't know the type and it's not easy to find replacement parts in Europe, so I'm trying to do my best to get the original system working.
What is your experience, do dvd readers often fail on this model? Could it be a communication, software or cable problem? Maybe an amplifier? Or is the source of the problem elsewhere?
The affected model/type is:
N: 25915 JU40A
Model no.: CCA-1470E
Part name: CONT ASSY-NAVI
Thank you very much for any help.
