Using an Arduino for this is a great solution, but requires you to know how to wire and program it.
This is just another way of doing it. (Special thanks to iCrap for showing how he got this to work!)

The USB to TTL adapters should arrive within the next week and then I hope to get terminal access.

I also spent a few hours searching for data sheets of the ICs on the main/navigation board.
As it turns out, there is a 32-Mb (4M × 8-Bit/2M × 16-Bit) flash memory (S29JL032J) and I suspect it holds the boot and core OS.

I have ordered a TSOP48 to DIP 48 adapter (shown below) and a few spare S29 ICs.
The plan is to use an Arduino Due and build a PCB that uses this adapter. Then I hope to be able to dump the flash memory.

It shouldn't be too difficult, after all, it is just memory. (meaning you set the address, the required enables and then read the data)

I don't have a timeline for the flash dump, as the priority is getting terminal access to work, and then a working test bench nav system with screen and buttons.
For terminal access, is necesary read that memory, (Contains the SO), and them u can enable it. Maybe are a executable or autorun inside flash.

Just found it, looks like they figured the same stuff out.

It's not the same thing, its not utilizing the built in GT-R MFD. Basically just an external device plugged into the screen.

The system is plug and play, the OBDII cable connects to the OBDII connector on your car. To show the gauges, the AV cable connects to your OEM navigation or your aftermarket head unit on the RCA input.

That's what I get for not reading the page, I went straight to the install manual which does not mention RCA

Possibly stupid question. I have the slightly rare "Technology Package" which has the Infiniti Intelligent Cruise Control, Automatic windshield wipers, and "Advanced Climate Control" which automatically controls the outside vents by automatically controlling the air circulation mode on the center console (press three times, one option is "Auto").

The question is, will the modding of the OEM head unit harm the "Technology Package" features which came with my car? I ask, as I saw on MotorvateDIY video that he was utilizing the basic, non "Technology Package" center console which does not have the "Auto" air circulation button, and that got me thinking about my car, and possibly losing my stock features that came with my Tech Package.

Will not lose any features at all.
Motorvate is using a base panel on his test setup, but this mod only works on tech package cars.

Oh yes!! Zada tech has some very nice gauge/dash solutions.

Excellent question!
From what I have seen, the G37 Nav/AV units (known as the 08IT) have the same software on the hard drive, and a configuration file determines what is available.
With that said, I think it will work, but won't know until I test it.

Luckily I have a good friend that has the same Tech package on his G37, and I hope he will allow me to test this on his car.

I think the question is:
Will the Advanced Climate Control feature still function when vehicle type is set to GTR?

I suspect it will as the AC config seems to be separate from the vehicle type, but testing will verify this

Thank you, I look forward to your testing and your conclusion from the tests with the "Technology Package"

I am attaching pictures that I just took that are tied to the Tech Package AC system

"Auto" Recirculation Button engaged

"Auto Recirc ON" confirmed on Nav Screen when option is engaged

"Clean" logo within Nav screen, which is part of the Technology Package AC system.

\"Quick Clean" logo listed on Nav screen when the air flow is high

Difference between \"Quick Clean" and "Clean" on Nav screen for Tech Package Advanced AC System

Thanks for the pictures, they will be very helpful.
Later today, I will try to reconfigure my test bench Nav unit to have the advanced climate control.

My pleasure, thank you for the hard work. This is amazing stuff.

I also added two additional photos to my original post, one is a different icon that comes up when the fan speed is on high for the Tech Package Advanced AC
