I know many people have installed aftermarket backup camera and wired back using the AV unit.

I want to get the Tesla style infotainment system and they sell their own "universal" aftermarket camera, which I am sure it will work. But can someone please verify if I can buy the OEM camera(ebay) and wire that to Tesla style headunit and would it work as long as I connect those 4 OEM wires correctly to the headunit? I just would rather have the option to buy/swap the trunk lid and connect the wires back to the headunit to display the camera.

Also, has anyone tried to use wireless video transmitter for their aftermarket backup camera, particularly the Tesla style one? Thanks!

Why not use a newer one that will likely have better image quality?

 

I just want to keep the OEM rear spoiler without having to drill anything so its just a perfect fitment.

 

Yeah that make sense. An aftermarket one would have to be modified to some extent to fit flush.
