g37 Screen Swap

Is it possible to replace the middle dash of a g37 with that of a newer q60 2-screen dash?

Please let me know if that is at all possible.

sure there are some people who have done it. Looks like trash. Not sure why you would want too anyway. The q50/q60 2 screen is the stupidest setup in all of car infotainment history.

I am not aware of anyone who has swapped the OEM Q50/Q60 dual screen "In-Touch" system into a older G37. Installing the aftermarket "Tesla-style" thing from China, yes. OEM, no.

If anyone has done it- prove it.

For one, the middle screen/switch assembly will not fit into the center stack. The side switches extend wider than the opening. Plus, the area where the center stack transitions with the center console would need to be modified (even if you swapped to a newer console). Therefore the dash will have to be modified.

The upper screen is slightly larger than what we have now. The entire area between the vents would have to be modified to make the screen fit- plus, the dial/switches would have to go. Which leads me to the electronics.

All of the electronics (radio, NAV, switch panel, and other parts) would all have to be replaced along with the harnesses. Being that Infiniti uses a different type of wiring cable in this system the wiring would be a nightmare- especially since most of the cables are not available at the parts counter. It is really far from being plug-and-play.

With enough resources anything is possible. Is it worth it? Judging by how unpopular it is with those who have it, probably not.

Keep a watch for Workshop 12 boys. Prototype for G37 is currently being developed. A lot of happy Z owners running it.
