Just one caveat that makes this even more troubling. If an amp s rated at 1000 watts output, it will draw more than the calculated 83.3 amps since there isn't an amp in the world that's 100% efficient.

I read your linked article and agree with most of what the author states. However, an audio capacitor is to help bolster transient response of the amp only. If the electrical system of the car and the wiring cannot supply sufficient current for the quiescent operation (steady state) of your amplifier is when the concept of current limited systems come into play

Keep in mind that an amp with 1000 watt output is only 3 dB louder than a 500 watt amp.

If you want to have DOUBLE the loudness, you need TEN TIMES the power. Human perception of volume is logarithmic in relation to amplifier power. So a 1000 watt amp is*NOT* ten times louder than a 100 watt amp- a 1000 watt amp is only TWICE as loud as a 100 watt amp.
