09 g37 sedan dashboard lights
I have a 2009 g37 sedan and I’ve been experiencing the what looks like a well known issue which Is the dashboard lights that partially go on and off randomly.
today too my right headlight was flickering. Left was not doing the same.
any idea where to start looking? Have a feeling the electric system is faulty somewhere but not sure where to start.

You could look into those cluster repair outlets where you send your cluster in, they fix it, and ship it back. I have no experience or recommendations with these companies, however. Or, you could replace the cluster but your mileage would not be accurate. My cluster (2008) flickers worse than the disco ball at 54. I don't drive my car much so I chose to leave it be- more hassle than it is worth (to me).
As for your passenger headlight, the flickering could be a symptom of a failing bulb or ballast. Easiest way to check this is to swap the ballast to the other side. If it flickers then it likely needs to be replaced. If it works fine the you might have a wiring/ground issue on the passenger side harness. At 10 years old +/-, I would lean toward a failing ballast.

As IL said. Swap ballast of it follows its ballast. If not it bulb. If they're your OEM bulbs they've served you well. Upgrade them to osram night breaker.
I have a 2009 G37S Journey as well. And just recently, at around 39K miles, one of my backlight LED's in the tach has also started to flicker randomly off. It doesn't do it very often, maybe on average a few times per minute. Sometimes it can go several minutes without flickering, sometimes several in a row. It is quick off then on, at around the 7K position. It also doesn't seem to correspond to hitting a bump or any kind of flexing. It can do it just sitting idle at a light. I am not sure, but occasionally, I think another will go off with it.
I expect it is going to get worse. I kinda wish that one light would stay blown, since the flicker is distracting. It is early in this issue, so I don't know if temperature will affect it. It would amount to a very expensive repair.
It is sad to see something like this happen in a supposedly high-end car; especially one that is single-owner, very low mileage and garage-kept.

Well, 2009 is already 14 years ago (how did that happen?) and the circuit boards even in our garaged cars live through extreme temperature changes over the years. Frustrating though. Pretty sure the original "wave soldering" work was not quite up to NASA specs.
Even though I'm a dabbler in these things I think I would opt to send it to a shop which does nothing but cluster repair. Still a serious PITA.
