BT or aux solution for android phones?
BT or aux solution for android phones?
Did anyone figure out a way to stream music to their cars? I have a 2010 g37x withOUT nav so I do not have an aux port and the USB plug doesn't recognize android devices!
I have searched everywhere and cannot find a solution, some have suggested the NAXA USB adapter and I have ordered that will receive it in a bit.
Is there no way to trick the USB port in the car to think the android device is connected is an "apple" device thus allowing it to play music thru the USB cable? Is there no way to program this or some sort of app that runs on your phone that can trick the USB? I personally don't like iPhones and would much rather stay with my Samsung note 8.
or
can we update the BT in the car to allow for music playback?
..Even my old civic didn't have an aux port but it had the harness under the middle console that I was able to solder an aux cable to and listen to music from.
Edit: Spelling

i think Bluetooth audio for the G37 started in 2010 (w/Nav), so are you sure you don't have it?
check Bluetooth settings to enable phone for audio, too.
i had an ipod i left in the center console for music, but no adjustable EQ means it sounds horrible with the Bose system.
next, i bought the GROM i-Link cable, but it was constantly cutting out, let alone song info was messed up and no album art (despite being marketed that it would display it for Android).
if you really don't have Bluetooth audio, i'm sure others will chime in - there are adapters that will get you there, but i'm not familiar with what works best.

I'm surprised no one has been able to hack or reprogram the usb port to accept android..
FIXED my situation. Dug up my old iPod, restored it. Used some Emulator and put Spotify on it since the 5th gen iPods only go to 9.3.5 iOS. Whereas Spotify requires 10+. Now i just use the iPod for Spotify in my car. Works pretty good!
I was going to come in and say iPod seems to be the only reliable way to go. I didn't need anything fancy so I got an iPod 5G then replaced the hard drive with SD cards so storage wouldn't be an issue. Kind of lame that is the only good option for playing music in our cars.
As for the EQ, can't you set it on the iPod and it'll play like that via USB? I was messing with mine when I first got it and set it to one of the preset EQs and it felt like when I put it back in my car it was way too bass heavy, but I usually lave it on the flat or no EQ option.
