I have a 09 G37 convertible and the radio (AM/FM band) is all static. I press the seek button and it never stops. If I manually put it on a station and it work (kinda). What can I do? Can I put on an aftermarket antenna?
Do you have any aftermarket LED or HID lighting? They put off a radio signal that can interfere with stations. You may also need to look into seeing if the antenna is actually hooked up at the headunit and at the antenna itself.

The car is 100% stock. The radio works a little. The AM does not catch any stations. FM only catches a few. I also live in Miami and the signals are strong. I also want to get rid of the long antenna, any ideas?
The symptoms you describe can either be a bad antenna/ amplifier or a bad connection. The first thing you could do is check all of the antenna connections both at the headunit and at the antenna base.
(2010 'Vert, 2009 should be similar):
As for aftermarket antennas, I am sure there are options out there. Perhaps someone can offer more information on them. I never use AM/FM, or XM for that matter, so I just do not know. Just remember if you remove the antenna you will have a hole in the decklid:

Hope some of this helps.

Thank you for the reply... I checked all the connectors. It's only a problem with the AM/FM stations. Sometimes it works and other time it just rolls over and over. Can the AM/FM antenna just go bad? If so what parts do I need to change?
It is rare but possible for the antenna amp to fail. The amp is located in the antenna base. Judging from the FSM (again, for 2010 'vert), the antenna has 2 wires: a signal wire and a 12V power feed. You could make sure the amp is getting power. If everything is checking out good, then you might have a bad antenna.
There are a few on eBay, used, for around $40 and up. I know you were interested in aftermarket, but as a last resort one of those may be a option.
Alex, from what I can tell, the AM/FM antenna is incorporated into the XM SAT antenna. I found part #28208-JJ50B and the cheapest I located was $217.42 (discountinfinitiparts.com). This is brand new from Infiniti.
Unless you find a aftermarket alternative, I, personally, would go with one of the used parts from eBay. Keep in mind that the base of the antenna can be swapped out with yours to keep the matching paint.
