Hello, Newbie here. I have an apparent issue with the BCM. Started out the car ran out of gas, but the gauge said it has a 1/4 tank. Everything was cranking but just wouldn't turn over.... so i put some gas in and boom. Starts. However when it started the CE light came on. I have a code reader and it states tank leveler error. OK No prob. But then realized several other issues now
1. blinkers not working but hazards do.
2. the wipers work but the speed control of the wipers does not adjust. They are either on or off.
3. The traction control light come on inadvertently
4. Seat belt warning chime does not come on when seat belts not fastened and driving -(Bad habbit i know but glad i noticed this).

A local mechanic said either its the blinker switch in the steering column or the BCM. Its $650 to change out the switch - which hes 75% sure will do it. and/or $350 just to test the BCM.

Can you sense my hesitation to say go?

Im a handy guy and do all my routine maintenance and not afraid to get into most things but my general rule is to not mess with electrical.

Any advise? Based on research of symptoms - Seems like its probably the BCM - is this something anyone has done at home or is it a dealer/autotech job?
