G37 sedan bose subwoofer mounting depth
hi everybody, i've been lurking for awhile now but could use some help with an answer i can't seem to find via search.
i am interested in replacing the bose subwoofer in my 2013 sedan, but keep things looking as stock as possible. does anyone know what the maximum mounting depth of the bose subwoofer is while still clearing the trunk liner? i can find places to hide a monoblock amp and still let it breathe.
i checked out this thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...r-install.html. the sub G37Avi used has a mounting depth of about 6.5 to 7 inches, but it looks like he had to cut a hole in the trunk liner. i am trying to avoid that.
appreciate any help or tips or thread referrals.

Remove spare tire stick amp there if you really worried wire in small USB powered fan since it won't take much draw into power supply for amp. You'll need a shallow mount sub to use stock location without major mll isificstion. Honestly it's easier to get a wicked cas bh od with 1 10in sub

if anyone cares about this, i replaced the bose subwoofer with an image dynamics id10 and it just cleared the trunk liner. there was no need for cutting or anything. it's got a top-mount depth of 5.5 inches.
this created some issued with the stock bose subwoofer cover, which flexes and rattles like crazy thanks to the new subwoofer. i took it to an auto upholster to replace the cover with some kind of breathable fabric. i am going to have to wedge some material between the third brake light and the rear window as well.

So you did you replaced the sub and added an amp as well? I added a corner box and amp to my coupe. I figured it wouldn't be possible to add a sub/amp in place of the Bose without screwing up the sound.

the bose amp is still driving the speakers. the new subwoofer is being driven by a low profile jl mx300/1 marine amplifier, which is hidden away under the trunk liner. the subwoofer signal is being tapped straight from the head unit.
