Hey guys, I'm having a wierd issue. My driver side door alert will not go off, and my right signal blinks really fast. I think all this was caused from the passenger side sunroof drain leak. I did check the signal lights, the bulbs are not blown.

after some research here, I was able to fix the leak in the drain. I assumed the BCM got water on it and was causing the malfunction. After a week of letting everything dry out, I checked the BCM's connections, and they where all dry as well.

I do think all the electrical problems are related to the leak, just don't know where else to check for the short. any ideas? The interior seems completly dry. I also removed the battery cover and checked in there, under the battery was kinda damp, but not water soaked. Nothing else looked wet in that area.

 

Did you check the door switch that's in the door well it has a rubber accordion around it

 

Looks to be ok. The rubber around it is good, not cracked or torn and everything was dry. Couldn't get the screw out to check the connection. Can't see why that would all of a sudden fail?

 

BCM malfuntion confirmed. Dealer just quoted $1085 to replace it.



I found the same part number on eBay for $60-$80, and gladly will pay to have it reprogramed...but dealer said they won't touch it.


Are there any other options?

 

Why does a used BCM need to be programmed?

 

Bcm is coded to your car after its replaced.
