Could I unhook my aftermarket subs?

Hello,

A very newbie question here. I have an aftermarket sub installed in my trunk. I'm thinking of taking it off for a few weeks. Could I just simply unhook and leave the cables exposed in my trunk? I am worried since the cables that hook on the subs will have those metal ends exposed.

If they are just the speaker wires you should be fine. If they are the power wires going to the amp then put electrical tape on them at least. Best choice would be to find the fuse for the power line and pull it.

The main fuse should be close to the battery.

don't do this. Speaker wires carry voltage and current just like power wires do. Any exposed wire should be terminated or taped to avoid a short.
