can traction control / VDC be 100% defeated?

So it seems to be a pattern with a lot of modern cars these days: the inability to turn off VDC/traction control despite literally having a button to turn it off.

I went to the trouble of disconnecting the Bosch unit below the center console, which seemed to help somewhat. But there have been a few times where the car still intervenes, and it's pretty annoying. I've noticed the power cut even when I had also activated the VDC off button.

So despite having 2 lights on the dash (the upper one stays on all the time due to the disconnected Bosch unit, and the lower light turns on/off depending on the VDC off button), I still don't have full access to the car's true abilities in those instances where you have a safe opportunity to 'play'.

Is there something else to be done?

Also, does this issue plague a 370z, or even a 6-spd G37S to the same extent?

I wonder if your question is in the wrong area. Seems like it should be posted in the "Engine, Drivetrain & Forced-Induction". You're in the "Audio, Video & Electronics Post questions, reviews, and other general info about the G's Nav, sound system, satellite radio or aftermarket stereos".

Here's a DIY that may help: https://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-i...n-control.html

Good luck.

I moved the post here. It's about electronic car control, so I put it in the electronics section.
