non-nav g37's connect to bluetooth?

Hey, do any of you guys have a non-nav package g37 and found success with a bluetooth adapter? I've been looking around and can't seem to find a definitive answer as to whether a bluetooth adapter, like this(

), works on our cars. I would love to not have to connect my phone through the usb connector every time I get in my car.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a hit or miss with getting a successful, un-interrupted hook-up. Be less of a headache just paying a subscription for XM radio.

Trying to play music right? Connecting in order to make and receive calls is easy. Owners manual will walk you through it; or you can youtube it.

I would not wish XM service against my worst enemy but that is a different drama anyway.

OP, the item in the link will not work at all. For one, it is a transmitter and not a receiver. Additionally it is only intended for use with portable speakers and headphones and will not work with Apple devices (just saying).

If you already have USB, why not just load up a cheap USB stick with your music and call it a day? Unless you are looking for a setup that will let you stream, ie. this Pandora or Spotify nonsense, in which case I have no idea what will work for you.

LOL - I'm curious to know since I'm considering this as a non-nav owner myself but everyone in my family has had good experiences thus far.

I researched this pretty extensively and couldn't find any concrete solution. Infiniti really stuck it to non-nav owners in this regard. I figured I'd use WAZE on my phone as I always do and didn't even consider the repercussions. Pretty bad when my '08 Mazda 3, i sport, could play stream-able music but the 2012, originally $35k + G37 can't...

Oh well, still love the dang thing

Best solution is GROM BT-3 to replace the XM feed. Any other transmitter is hit and miss, usually leaning more towards miss. Unfortunately it's not as simple as plugging something in and calling it a day.

I use the nfc Bluetooth and it works flawlessly! No interruptions at all. It automatically re-connects when I start my car, as long as I don't turn the Bluetooth on my phone off once I get home or something. It'll sometimes reconnect even when I do that. It plugs directly into the red and white aux plugs and you just pair your phone over Bluetooth. You can't beat the price either. IPhone user btw and not using this for XM. Using it to stream youtube, apple music and pandora

For the 08-09, I posted up the almost perfect solution in the thread below in the 36th post.

buy an old iPod/iPhone fill it with music, and leave it in your armrest connected to the USB. i would recommend pre-IOS10, and do not upgrade it - after upgrading, the HU sometimes doesn't see the iPhone when i start the car, and i have to unplug/re-plug the cable.

my Bluetooth works, and i use this method.
