As has been said multiple times already, the USB3 GROM unit from GROMAudio is the best way to go. They currently have a sale going on for $15 off as well with the code in their banner.

I just finished installing mine today. It was relatively painless after figuring everything out, except that I was unlucky and ran into several issues. I can now fully disassemble my center console/dash and put it back together in 20 minutes, hah.

GROM Unit (double check your year and model with their guide and everything)

Installation guide:

Just an FYI, several things went wrong with mine because it's a 2013 and apparently that year randomly causes issues, along with one other model vehicle...go figure.

Just remember to disconnect the XM tuner (antenna AND white power connector) in the trunk. There is a random chance that you will have to ground one of the connector's return wires as well, which caused a major headache. Additionally, there is a 50/50 chance that you will have to connect the spare female adapter on the supplied cable to the factory male end (once again, headache). Finally, I happened to get a unit that was shipped the same day as a major firmware update and had to flash the firmware (which was extremely painless since I ran the USB extender to my center console).

Feel free to ask for help if anyone runs in to issues. Their tech support is great as well if you want to go that route.

Very good info. Maybe a good winter project for some people to give a shot. @ $15.00 what can it hurt? Don't feel like doing yourself, i'm sure an audio shop or family member could get this done.

Ah, sorry. The $15 is the coupon amount. For the GROM unit (comes with the USB extension) it is $150 base. Here is my full order. I went ahead and purchased a flush mount Aux adapter and the mini-din Bluetooth adapter.
  • Nissan Infiniti USB Android iPod iPhone Bluetooth AUX car kit (NIS02U3) - 1 pcs x 149.99
  • AUX MiniDin to 3.5mm audio cable, 5FT (35MDN) - 1 pcs x 9.75
  • Flush Mount 3.5mm female auxiliary cable 2FT (C-FM35) - 1 pcs x 9.99
  • GROM In-Car Bluetooth Extension for select GROM kits, 10FT (BTD) - 1 pcs x 49.99
  • Mid-Summer Special - $15 OFF GROM-USB3 Car Kit (SUMMER17) - 1 pcs x -15.00

I DO NOT know if other USB adapters will work with this unit reliably. I decided to spend the few extra dollars to get one that I knew would work.
