I've been using a Kinivo BT adapter from amazon and I don't have to push a button to turn it on.

Thanks.
I am also an Android user, there is really complicated solution you can do that also costs a lot of money and you have to run wires. Essentially it is where you tap into a usb port on the back of the stereo unit where the satellite radio input is. I didn't want to go through all that I just wanted a simple solution that also required me to just set it and forget it, and one that would sound just as good as going straight into AUX and I found a solution. You can read my review I just posted on the forum. Hope this helps. I've been very happy with it. I have an 09 sedan.

BEST/cheapest/easiest option: This BT receiver off amazon for $20 and it connects to the RCA in with a headphone jack. It powers on and connects to my phone automatically via Bluetooth the second the car turns on. I have it tucked away in the center console and never have to touch it or look at it. Yes, its CD quality and functions like it came factory. Thee BEST option out there for the guys without the BT streaming feature.

It works so well, I even took the time to go back and leave a 5 star review.

Downside: It pretty much takes up all of the room in the center console even with short wires. Just cover it with that little tray the car comes with and forget about it. Losing your center console storage is definitely worth the BT feature.

this one is cheaper and takes up less space. you will need a 12V-USB adapter for the cig light port and a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable, but its still much smaller.

Can you vouch for it being cd quality though? I have a white version of that I got from eBay and I wouldn't say it's cd quality. When playing Pandora through ,y iPhone when paired via Bluetooth I have to turn the phone and cars volume almost all the way up when trying to "bump" my music.

When playing Pandora off your phone do you have to turn your phone and cars volume almost all the way up when trying to get decent sound? For example, is the volume from the aux source way lower/quieter than playing from the radio?

This may be redundant, but have we firmly established that there is no way to use (meaning stream) Spotify/Apple music with an iPhone plugged into the USB port?

I assume that's the reason for all of the bluetooth mods.

2013 G37 sedan, no nav but has bluetooth for phone.

Iphone through usb works fine. It's android that doesn't work.

Does that apply only to music stored on your phone or to streamed music through a service as well?

Android just doesn't work at all. The device is not recognized when you plug in. Iphone streams spotify through usb no problem.

Kb Cool—is there a certain setting, etc, that I need to pay attention to? It just tells me "no song" and "iPod" comes up. I have an iPhone 6s Plus so it's not an out of date model or anything. It doesn't recognize the fact that Spotify is on my phone…almost like it just wants to play songs native to my phone…of which there are zero... Any ideas?

I remember trying to connect my friends brand new iphone 6. It would not connect until i downloaded a song from itunes and then it connected, once he had music in his library. Find some free music on itunes and give it a shot,
