Cool Navi

Hey guys, so unfortunately I'm a part of the "sorry I didn't get factory nav" group. Just got my '12 G37x about a month ago and upon the end of making negotiations to purchase it, I found out my only means of playing music through my phone was through USB (luckily I have an iPhone). I'm looking to find out can I have my car upgraded to the factory nav and will I be able to use the Bluetooth streaming feature? May sound odd but I'm looking to upgrade it to use it for everything but the navigation (Bluetooth streaming, digital clock, resale value, etc.) being I use a great app (Waze) that shows police, road hazards, traffic and a bunch of other great stuff that factory nav won't. Also should I have all the work done directly through the Infiniti dealership or find the factory nav kit online somewhere and have it installed elsewhere? Or should I get this Nexus thing I see everyone talking about?

USB is better audio quality than Bluetooth - buy a used iPod on Craigslist just for music, put it in the armrest storage bin, and forget about it.

frees up your phone for phone calls and Nav. find some kind of mount for it - i use a iOttie 1-touch that i leave on the floor of the back seat since i don't use Nav very often. get a more permanent mount if you do.

that will save you $$$ and the PITA of tearing the car apart to install factory Nav.

The 2010+ Navi system is quite good when it comes to Bluetooth audio. I use my bluetooth audio more than the usb simply because its less cables.

If you can afford it, the upgrade is usually around 1000$ in parts to get navi and more in labour. But you can do it yourself to save some dough.

Takes about a weekend, speaking from experience.
