The only way to update the maps in the US for example is from the dealer. Its impossible to do it otherwise unless you have a specific code which only NavTech sells, or the dealer. The hardest part is the machine they use to upload data, I dont think anyone has that other than the dealer.

I have an 08 as well and the only way I could update it is to buy update from navtech and then have dealer install it. Used to be able to buy cd with maps but that doesn't work as there's no dvd reader on 08. But if you find something I'd be insterested to hear about it
