2009 G37xS sound not working

I have a 2009 Infiniti g37xS recently purchased, i have been having issues with the audio system. Everything on the radio works besides the volume, the volume itself turn up just nothing comes from the speakers. this happened about 3 months after purchase. came back on when i brought it to the dealership. this is now the third time i have brought it there and now the radio is completely off they say its the amp but yet i looked in the trunk where it should be and there is no amp. i was wondering if it was an amp in the head unit and if it is could i replace just that amp or would i have to replace the whole head unit (in one of the pictures to the right that is the xm satellite receiver) Imgur

Hi Mike, sorry that for some reason I've just noticed this thread. Hope you've gotten this resolved by now.

Based on your picture, there certainly is no amp. This is interesting, as you said that this issue happened about 3 months after purchase - so the sound was working initially?

Without the amp, you won't have any audio output. I'm not really sure what could have happened here, apart from someone at the dealership removing the amp. But if this was done, they should have informed you.

If you have the bose system, everything is amplified outside of the head unit - the head unit basically provides a line level signal to the amp.

If the amp has always been missing, I'm not sure how you could have ever had any output in the first place. This is an interesting one. Let us know what the current status of this problem is, as I'd be interested to see what happened.

Edit: I've just noticed that you're missing the 10" woofer that comes with the bose system as well. So either you do not have bose or the previous owner of the car stripped the bose system and did not replace it prior to selling the car. Sorry that I can't provide any more information, as I am not familiar with the standard non-bose audio system.
