2013 G37 Sport sedan. I'm thinking of installing a dash cam. My brother recently put one in his car, and he ran the power cord all the way around the edge of the windshield, down to an accessory power socket that provided switched power (the camera automatically turns on when power is applied). I'd like a tidier installation than that, thus my question:

Is there switched power in the rear-view mirror, or in the sunroof control area, that can provide 12V/1A?

 

I ran it to my fusebox with fusetaps.

You can tap power from the mirror which will turn on with your car.
