Quick question

Hello I was thinking of getting a g37 coupe everything about the car seems great but one thing that I am wondering is the iPhone or ipod connectivity ? I seem to been reading it only works with the old ipod ? Does blue tooth work the iPhone 5 to play music and answer calls ? Or even is there a way to modify the car to add an actual aux cord or a USB? Can a stereo and audio specialist do this or can infiniti g 37 stereo or console cannot be modified

I'm assuming your talking about an 08 g37.

The cable that is pictured only works with devices up to the 4s, and allows you to utilize the cars interface to change songs and look through your playlists and what not. However, if I'm not mistaken, from the iPhone 3g or iPod 2nd gen and up there is no charging capability. Infiniti has not released a new cable. The Bluetooth is used only as a headset. You can not stream music using Bluetooth on the 08 model. The car comes also comes with the red and white aux inputs, you can use an aux cable to play your music, but you will lose the functionality of using the car's interface to find the songs and what not.

You can get a Bluetooth streamer to have your music streamed using Bluetooth, look at this thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...th-on-g37.html

It's pretty simple to DIY. This is a step by step guide from the same guy: https://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-i...aux-input.html

If you have an older G37 the iDevice cable is for strickly Apple products. The power charging pinouts were changed by Apple a few years back so newer iDevices will not charge but everything else as far as integration works. There are adapters available to fix the charging issues. Newer G's went to a USB cable for iDevice (and others) for integration. I'm not sure what year they changed over. Yes, although I have never done it but BT should work fine as long as it's available for the year and model you are looking to purchase.

I've got a 2010 G37S and my Iphone 5 pairs with bluetooth to make calls and also connects via lightning cable to allow access to my music plus music apps. There is a usb port in the center console cubby. Sometimes it's a little finicky but I'm learning how to use it.

When you're connected to bluetooth does your phone play notifications over the speakers? I have a iphone5s connected via bluetooth to my 2012 G37 and I can only get phone calls, it does not text or email notification through the speakers.

You want a 2010 and up. You get bluetooth audio streaming as well as a USB port. No AUX cord but I'd rather use USB anyways. The 2008-2009 has aux I believe.

i got a 2009 and there's no aux. i also use an iPod and the cable does not charge it. I did however buy this adaptive charger (
Amazon.com: Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod and iPhone (Black): MP3 Players & Accessories Amazon.com: Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod and iPhone (Black): MP3 Players & Accessories
) that allows it to charge when I want ... simple investment that works... there's also a compact flash card slot but i've never used it.

my 2010 charges the i-pod (no aux) but I have a had a slight issue with mine. I have a first gen old i-pod touch and it doesn't play anymore than 3 songs at a time then it freezes. I have no idea why, my 2nd gen i-pod has its own problems, it wont play music at all, so I cant even check to see if it is the old version or what. I am curious to know if it would work with a gen 5 but I don't feel like spending laptop money on a damn i-pod
