USB question & opinions
if you are saying .wav is the closest I can get to FLAC then I'm sure I will , unless it's not that close to FLAC lol... I know files are huge FLAC is ridiculously huge but I dont care haha it's the quality that matters... FLAC over 320kbps MP3 has a HUGE difference in sound quality not even comparable

Thanks for the feedback. I have tried with 4 different flashdrives all files are FAT, and converted to .mp3 or .wav. It will play flashdrives with a small amount of songs on it, but the one that has over 1000 songs it will not play it at all. Ive tried all the flashdrives in the loaner that they gave me and they all work perfectly fine, and I also tested it on a friends car. Dealer game me sum BS excuse stating that this is a known issue on the cars with the NAVI, but that they still do not have a fix for it. Dealer has had my car for over 2 weeks now. I'm pretty much at the mercy of their service department. One mechanic said it might need the module replaced, but then they came back and stated that their "tech line" said that had nothing to do with it. I will keep you guys posted as to what other BS they can come up with.
Update on the issue:
So they call me on Friday and tell me that my car is ready. When I get there the USB issue is still not working. They then went ahead and informed me that the reason why my flashdrive isnt playing is because I have too many files on it. It has about 1300 songs. They stated that all g37s with navigation will not play a flashdrive with that amount of songs on it. I tested one with about 100 and it played just fine. They then stated that the USB was only meant for IPOD hook up and then highlighted the section in the manual where it states compatible, IPODs. To me this is utter BS!! I flipped on every single person in that service department and told them that its outrageous as to how this is a "capacity" issue and they cannot fix it. its only an 8GB flashdrive, but when i put a 64GB iphone it plays with no problem. It makes no DAMN SENSE to call it a capacity issue. The Service Manager told me that he would be reaching out to their Engineers to find out more about this issue as its the first time anyone has every brought their car in for this. They gave me my car back, and he said he would reach out to me with whatever information he gets back. He then stated that if for some reason there is no fix for this, that maybe he and I can come to some sort of agreement, on the matter (im assuming free parts or service). Any insights?? With as much money as these cars cost us, to me this is utter BS, and extremely inexcusable!! Any guidance is appreciated, please let me know.

Looking at the manual on my 2012, there are limits as follows:
With navigation system:
Folder levels: 8, Folders: 512 (including root folder), Files: 5,000
Without navigation system:
Folder levels: 8, Folders and files: 999 (Max. 255 files for one folder)

Hey Mike, if you have an iphone then i suggest you convert FLAC to appless lossless format, m4a i think. It converts without any quality loss. I tried listening to it this morning and the quality is superb. I dont think i will load any more mp3's. If you dont have an iphone, then you only option is .wav from a usb stick. You can also listen to FLAC via bluetooth but that will kill the quality.
