G37x sedan Bose sound system

I'm looking to buy a g37x with the premium package, but a few people were saying that the bose system is not that good, also it doesn't have good base, heck even I saw in one post that the hyundai sound system is even better than infiniti's bose. So could you guys give me a proper feedback of the bose sound system.

Also one more thing, I know it's completely off-topic, but I was looking at a q50 and really liked the design, however with the money I got, I can either afford a g37 fully equipped or the q50 with no add-ons. Which one do you think should I purchase?

There are a couple of threads regarding the bose system, here is a good one to read through...

As for Q50 vs. G37 I would go for the G. A good amount of us G owners that have driven a Q50 have not been very impressed. Some of us, myself included, have been let down with it. Heres a small thread with some of our thoughts.

I personally think the sedan Bose system is excellent, much better than the BMW H-K. The coupe I drove when I was shopping for a 6MT did not seem nearly as good. So maybe part of the criticism you are hearing.

I'm happy with the Bose sound system, although I did feel the need to add a 10" subwoofer to accentuate and deepen the bass which is the one aspect I deemed a bit lacking. Now, it's perfect for me.. Good volume, decent frequency separation and satisfying overall range.

I don't think the Bose system in the sedan is all too bad. I actually enjoy it. The highs are pretty crisp and the bass is somewhat punchy. Defintely not terrible by any means. Mind you, this is coming from someone who's been running 2 12" subs at 1100 watts rms in my previous two cars. I mean don't get me wrong, the Bose certainly will not rattle your trunk, but its enough to still be enjoyable. I'm still contemplating if I want to add a sub and amp set up in my G now which is typically my first "mod" in any of my cars, but just the fact that I'm 3 months in to having this car and I'm STILL contemplating on if i should even touch the sound system tells you something.

im in the same situation, finally took the plunge and got a 10" sub. i went with a custom box that sits on the left side of the trunk so it doesn't take up much room in the trunk.

Ya, if I am to add the sub amp combo, I think I want to go with either a single 10" or 12" sub with a trunk fitted enclosure. Did you have your enclosure built custom, or did u buy one already molded the corner of our trunks?

I have the G37x with the Bose and it sounds good. The system is clean and has decent bass. Coming from a 2011 Sonata 2.0T the Sonata had a bit more punch but that could be that the system had more watts. Over all the Bose system is good, if you listen to rap, club or dance you may want more bass. For rock it is fine.

What a lot of people think of as "good bass" is actually strong MIDbass that is playing proportionally much too loud for the rest of the audio spectrum. If you're used to "good bass," you'd probably feel that a truly flat bass response sounds bass-shy. That being said, IMO the Bose system in the G37 has spme midbass emphasis but not a lot, and it doesn't go that low.

My home system has a subwoofer equalizer (SVS AS-EQ1) that gives flat bass from 20-100 Hz, and I can tell you what we're getting from the Bose system isn't comparable. ON THE OTHER HAND...it's a lot better than many car premium audio systems that the manufacturer installs, including the B&O system in Audi A4 cars.

I think the Bose audio in the G37 is outstanding. It is a very balanced system compared to many others I've heard. The only thing that similarly impressed me was the standard audio I had in the 2011 Lexus IS 350 (not the Mark Levinson - didn't like that one actually).

The Bose lets you play any genre of music and it will always sound balanced and non-saturated.

Can you post a picture of it? I've been going back and forth on adding a sub in the trunk because I don't want to lose a lot of space. Plus I'm pretty sure the previous owner of my G had it prewired fit a sub/amp.
