I see focal makes or made the IS200, an 8" 2-way component system with a woofer depth and tweeter size that appear to fit the door (realizing adapter will be needed for ~10" woofer):

I have 09 coupe bose non-Nav.

Has anyone ever installed these in a G37 or heard them in action?

Does anyone know if these will provide noticeably better bass response than 6.5" components will the same/similar frequency range and comparable RMS?

they should fit in the doors with spacers / adapters.
Your issue might be with the plastic door panel fitting back on the door it self. Take measurements and use a dremel or something similar.


my mids are 2.75" deep and clear the window and door panel, so you should be ok.

measure about 5 times before ordering

as far as sound...you really might not notice to much of a better bass response.
On paper it will seem like you will, but in real life install and the way its used are more important than specs

are you trying to get 250hz and under from your doors?

 

I mainly do not want to lose any of the current midbass at all. I have Rockford Fosgate P300-10 powered sub taking care of the lower ends, but I love an enhanced level of bass for nearly all music and thus my desire to not lose any of the current midbass. I will replace the 6x9s as well but per my reading on here that will not do very much so I did not plan to use pricey 6x9s.

The amp I bought is an Alpine MRX-F65. Link is below but at it is listed at 110 watts x 4 at 4 ohms. Plan is to hook the components and 6x9s to this amp.

I cannot afford pricey 6.5 components by any stretch but these 2 seem to fit the wattage and have lower frequency ranges:

I wasn;t sure if the Focal IS200 would make much of a difference in the bass response. My assumption was no and if so I'd prefer the 6.5s since I can just buy the adapter from car-adapters.com

you will be VERY happy with the polks or kickers when driven by an amp.

100 watts per channel is a huge jump from the very low powered factory head unit.

Mid bass response if more about the install, crossover settings, and source than paying tons of money

If your budget is around $200 for mids

thse PPI mids should sound great
