Do the Bose speakers run passive or active from the Amp?

I'm a noob when it comes to car audio so forgive me if my terminology is wrong.

Basically i'm thinking about upgrading my audio system in my 07 Nissan Skyline 370GT.

I was talking to the manager at the local car audio shop about getting it done, he said for the job I want done (2x 10" subs, amp and custom box) it would range from $1400 - $2400 depending if the speakers ran passive or active from the amps. Something about having to by a crossover unit for it if it didn't have one.

He said he'd need to take the car in for a couple hours to have a look (free of charge) but I thought i'd save time by asking you guys here.

Thanks

he should be able to bypass all of the bose set up

tell him to tap into the signal before anything goes into the bose amp.

behind the head unit is where I tapped into my audio signal.

the price you were quoted seems extremely high

it almost sounds like the guy doesnt know what he is doing or just doenst want to do it

Line out put converter is usually $50-$200 for just a sub install

What kind of subs are you looking at?
