Questions about specific sub/amp install approach
I have an 09 sedan w/ bose. I want to add a single channel amp with one 10 inch sub.
Could I just tap off the wires going to the factory sub, AFTER the bose amp? Everything I've read states that this is a bad idea because the signal is processed. But still, how would it sound? Would it really be that bad? Since its just bass.
I was thinking I could just install a LOC right before the factory sub in the trunk and send that signal to my amp to power my aftermarket sub. What do you guys think?
Then, I saw there are a few good places to tap into for the remote signal but whats the easiest?
Hope to hear back, I researched as much as I could before posting, has anyone done it this way? Let me know!
Thanks!

you'll need to confirm if the sedan is the same, but i used this setup in my coupe to add a powered sub:

connect your dedicated power and ground wires to the amp (add fuse to power wire close to battery)
i used "vampire taps" for the following:

(B41 connector) #23-24 (left) and 25-26 (right) ---> amp low-level input
(B41 connector) #20 ---> your amp's remote turn on
if your amp accepts bare wire, you're good. if it only takes RCA preamp inputs, you'll need something like this:

Thank you 604gz and Landshark.
Seems like before the amp is the the only way... I really wish it was as easy as tapping into the factory sub positive and negative but looks like I'm diving head first into that harness.
Any other testimonials? If even one person says it doesn't sound half bad coming off the factory sub I'm trying it.
So I'll ditch the LOC and order that cable you showed. I'll try and post pics when the install is done.

Now that I think about it... Do I even need that cable? Couldn't I just strip any old rca cables laying around the house and have the same thing? I might go in that route if so..

Just wanted to share that it all went well, ended up dynamating the trunk too. I found one picture online that made it super easy and I also wanted to share some of the chaos before I cleaned it all up.
