I pay for it in my 11' G sedan but never have I gotten an announcement. The weather part works, and I get notified. I have checked all my settings and still it never tells me anything. If I manually go into info and traffic I will see few things. On my nav screen the "Traffic" box is always green. Any help would be appreciated.

 

It works. I actually had a warning about an accident on a local road. But I would think there are a myriad of variables that determine whether an announcement is made.

 

I have had it for a while now and nothing. I have checked every possible settings, not sure what else I can do.

 

I've had xmtraffic since mid-2010. It works fine, but it is only somewhat useful since the time it takes for heavy traffic or an accident to show up on it is very variable.

 

I let mine expire after the three month free trial

I find the free Waze GPS app more useful

It also announces thru bluetooth when the police are up ahead. No need for a radar detector.

Waze is the bomb. Hope the big G doesn't screw it up.

 

If you drive sensibly the police being ahead should never be an issue.

Yes, because doing 75 along with the rest of traffic on a 55 mph interstate is totally irresponsible..... There are tons of situations where you can be driving totally safely and still get a ticket, you just have to be the one unlucky guy who gets tagged.

 

For those of you who said Nav traffic does give an announcement, are you using the nav at the same time i.e. have a route in use? My 08 only gave an announcement then, never had it do it just normal driving.
