Infiniti camera control assembly used with other cameras?

Infiniti camera control assembly used with other cameras?
I did a quick search but didn't find much.
You can purchase the control units for the backup camera on eBay. Can you purchase any other camera to hook up with this? Or does it have to be the infiniti camera. I assume there is just a VGA input or something similar. My apologies if this is a dumb question. Thanks
