Strange, I have an 08 g37s with 80,000 miles and the NAV screen said "please look when backing up" like it does when Camera is on while I was in Drive, but radio and Nav would not come on... it lasted 10 minutes, I even shut car off and back on, and still stayed at that Black screen.

Temp was 34 in Chicago, it was 14 the other day and no issues, any thoughts???

Probably just locked up--when this happens, the firmware eventually does a force-restart.

Happened to me once a few years ago. Hasn't happened since. As far as I can tell, turning the car off/on doesn't force it to restart, it just takes time.

 

It's a computer sometime they'll freeze up.

On a bike trip a few years back the gps locked up. This was a garmin nuvi 750. I had a custom route on (downloaded from the computer). This was somewhere in the middle of nowhere, indiana. After about a half hour on the side of the road trying to reboot the damn thing, it finally came up. I finished the trip with no further incidents, but since then have always brought along a spare gps (and route).

The '11 kia optima i had before this once showed a windows ce crash message. Scary to know that some system in the car runs on windows! Shutting the car off for a few min then back on cleared it.

 

It just happened to me today while on my way to school. Have you found a solution?
