Using the bluetooth phone call method is a terrible idea.
1. Its in mono
2. It will sound like complete ****

I still cannot understand why Infiniti removed the aux input in some years. So stupid.

Yeah, it's ok for audio books, but not good for music at all.

I have been using the following product since the first few days of ownership without any concerns. Its $100, but in my mind, a small price to pay for BT streaming. Steering wheel controls still work perfectly, but the artist info does not show up on the screen. I have a 2013 non-nav, for reference.

Been using the tune2air WMA1000 plus the cablejive converter to stream music via bluetooth in my infiniti.

On my 2012 x which is sans navigation, I have just gone with the inelegant one meter Lightning Cable sticking out from the console route. Better sound quality than A2DP (BT streaming standard) and charges the phone and even shows most all information of given app used.

That said, with the SQ of Blose systems being what it is, a large part is laziness about installing/investing time and money into one of the aftermarket solutions. Currently devoting most time to devising a plan to deBose the stereo. Much harder than my old Acura TL owing to the integration of pretty much everything into said system.

Relatively straightforward just to tap the rear speakers to at least add a quality subwoofer/amplifier combo, but placing quality speakers into the enclosures is a whole other deal. That said, when I went from the OEM Bose of my Acura to Focal Utopias it was one of those life changing/affirming experiences. This of course is predicated on how much one is into music I suppose...

Would not think it would matter in comparison to an android device, but I am using the now ancient iPhone 7 Plus.
