Speaker setup for 2011 sedan (Non Bose)

Hey all, new to the forums, just got a 2011 G sedan in liquid platinum.

It does not have the Bose audio, does anyone know the speaker sizes for each location? I'm kinda surprised how hard it is to find info for such a popular car, Crutchfield basically just told me there's nothing they can help me with and that's NEVER happened with any car I've owned before.

Thanks for any help.

Grats on the car.

I'm pretty sure you have a 10 inch hole in your front doors and then a spot for a 3" and 1". Replacing these with a 2 or 3 piece 6.5" component set is the way to go.

I'm not positive on the rest but unless you care about the sound quality of the rear seats then there is not really much point of replacing them.

What are your goals and spending limits?

For the base model these speaker adapters will work

Custom Sub Enclosure | Affordable Sub Box

Im currently working on my door panels and these fit with no problem.
You keep the large plastic "housing" that the speaker is placed on.
here is what you will be looking at

Hey! Im working on my speakers for the front driver side, any advice on how to take the door carts off? i'm worried about pulling too hard and breaking something. Its especially "stuck" near the mirror. I have a 2011 Infiniti G37x

You did remove the three (3) bolts? Two (2) behind the door grip and one (1) behind the interior door handle/lock assembly?

There is a large clip in the area of the mirror/tweeter. Once you release the clips along the bottom and front portion of the panel ("card") you should be able to reach up/in with your arm and pop it loose. It is just tension holding you up. If this is the first time the panel has been removed it will be especially tight (as most first times are ).

You do have to pull the door card hard- like you mean it. Just don't go gorilla on it as there is very little slack with the wiring harnesses.

Yeah, I removed the bolts. Looks like I just have to pull on it a little harder. Secondly, can i use any speaker thats 6 1/2 / 6/3/4? or should i use a bose speaker? I bought a 2012 bose speaker, hoping it will work.

Thanks for your response on such an old thread

I've become a master at taking the door panel off after several mod projects over the years. You'll get there. Once you get your hand under and near the stubborn clip you can work it loose.

As for speakers, use what you have. If is just a straight swap you should be fine though I'm sure the speaker expert audiophiles- which I definitely am not- will have other opinions.

Good luck!

I just took the door cart and speaker off. I inspected the speaker and it doesn't look like anything is blown or torn in it. what could this mean? is it blown internally? should i get a new speaker or attempt to salvage it somehow?

Any way i can diagnose it?
