I just got a 2012 G37xs with NAV. It seems my handset phonebook is greyed out when I am driving?is that normal?

Also, is there a way to change the way the handset phonebook lists your entries? Its last name first and that is NEVER how i do it on anything else i have. i would like first name first.

Greyed out while driving is normal - Safety measure.

First name first in the listings. Not sitting in my car right now, nor do I have the manual with me. Sorry. I want to say I think it can do first name first, but I'm not sure. I'll check later.

Mine always downloads last name then first name, so I have the same problem. Not a big deal but it does kind of get annoying. AFAIK, there's no way to switch it back, but I'm probably wrong since I never looked into it.

 

Yeah, I cannot seem to figure out how to chnage it.

 

My Handset Contacts show up First then Lastname. This is how they are setup to display on the phone before downloading to the car.
Change the display on your phone to Firstname,Lastname, set the car to auto download handset phonebook. Next time the phone connects to the car it should fix it for you. It can take a while for the entire handset phonebook to reload.

 

weird, mine have always been first, last on my phone...ill delete the phone book and try again.
