Sucked having to bring it in, but at least I didn't have to buy any brake fluid, they added some at no charge, and washed and vacuumed(well, crappy wash, but, still a wash).

remote start with OEM keyfob

Guys ModMe himself stated here the module you need to keep your original keyfob instead of walking around with 2 keyfobs. For the lazy ones who wont read his post its xpresskit's dball.

For the even lazier ones here is the link to buy the unit.

and before you go to Massapequa Infiniti, check around for their service department's reviews. To sum it up, it sucks! They charged me for a service bullitin once and i had to call Infiniti Consumer Affair. Legacy Infinti is the way to go for service.

I got ADS (automotive Data Solutions) to create a firmware for our Nissan/Infiniti's so it can co-exist with the factory key fob and factory alarm when I said expresskits (DEI) has an interface that works on my car.

I just got it installed last week.

I don't carry a second fob, I added the interface module

iDatalink - DL-NI5

Then I added a Firstech FT-6000AS-CONT - Alarm with remote start and then a DRONE 2 (iphone interface) and then some accessories for extra sensors and function.

Works like a dream, can remote start from iphone/blackberry or online.

But I can use the regular key fob to go in and out as I please for normal operation but still have the factory alarm and the aftermarket alarm working.

2 Way to my iphone/blackberry if my alarm gets triggered. If anyone wants details on the setup, let me know.

actually if you don't do the smart phone application and alarm you can do remote start from the factory key fob, i press lock 3 times in a row.

But the range is limited to the factory remote range, then all you need is the Idatalink ADS module and a basic FT6200S-CONT module.

I'm sorry, at the risk of sounding stupid.... Could you detail what exactly needs to be done and purchased to get this nice "minimalist" remote start ability? It sounds like exactly what I want.

What would be the point???

My wife's Lexus has the Drone. She travels (flies), for work on occasion, and can start her car when she touches down. She can also start it from her office so it is always warm are ready to roll.........granted we we live in Minnesota and she thinks 70 degrees is cold!!

I am interested in finding something for my G so when she has to drive it she will be comfortable......or I will not be!!

exactly, thats why I got the Drone. I can remote start my car from the airport, and when travelling I can set it so that if the battery dips too low, sometimes when im out of town for 2 weeks, when it sense the voltage getting too low, it will remote start and run to charge back up.

Plus I can geofence it and GPS track it from my iphone or ipad or in a web browser anytime i want
