Infiniti Remote Start ?

Has anyone heard of Infiniti coming out with remote start?

I know Infiniti doesn't offer it now and that there are aftermarket options but when I was at the dealer last week he mentioned that their could be something coming out as a retrofit and software update now that the JX has remote start. He mentioned there might be some details on the net now but I haven't seen anything.

I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything on this.

2nd me on that...it's sad when lower end cars have those options available to the buyers. I was even looking at the Viper Alarms with that option...keep us posted OP. Thanks

The Remote Engine Start is an option on the '13 JX and will soon make its way to the entire Infiniti line up.

But its probably going to be overpriced and super basic with short range. Why not just integrate an aftermarket one?

There's some really good software our for our vehicles that will fully integrate seamlessly.

I'm not sure how the current solutions work, will you still be able to use the factory key fob?

Let's hope Infinti puts it on the market soon. I'd rather not use an aftermarket remote start because it would require you to carry around the fob and the remort start.

Fellas, let's face reality. Infiniti is not going to go back and engineer a product for a car that has been selling for 4 years. New features will always be added to newer models to attract new sales.

If you desperately want remote start, you should look into aftermarket solutions. There are products that will work with the intelligent key system. I have the viper remote start with smartstart. I only carry my intelligent key and iphone. Car can be remotely started anywhere with cellular signal.

If you are not willing to go aftermarket, you are SOL. Maybe wait and upgrade to the newer generation.

I have a 2010 G37x and my dealer installed an after market remote start before I took delivery of the car. Hit lock 3x's, and it starts. The cost, $460 for the starter and tints. Satisfied customer.DOMO

Could you point me in the direction of this information? What software are you referring to? I'm not concerned with the remote start per se, just curious what is available.

The JDM Nissan Accessory catalog does have a factory remote starter listed for the 07-12 Skyline, so I'm sure it would work on our cars, order one from Japan?

The local dealer had a flyer this past winter offering to install a remote start that integrates into the existing key fob. Cost was $900.
