Seems the Firmware update does not require any License Key. Not sure why they just dont let you download. Seems it can be shared without purchase... But It definatly loads faster for sure now after update.

Hey Guys,

I am considering upgrading my 09 navigation, being that I am taking a pretty long road trip this summer. I would appreciate any advice or tips as to whether or not the upgrade is worth the $200. Thanks!

Looks like the cost has been bumpted up to $249. Figures now that I have moved and some of the streets in my new neighborhood aren't in the map that came with my 2011

So, has anyone installed the newest map release? "Infiniti Navigation System X9 DVD Year 2012"
Any noticeable changes to the UI/options.

I haven't had any updates on my G (2008) but would like to. I just cant justify the price, especially when I have a droid with navi that works better.

Hello I am new in this forum (I got a G37x 2010), living in Europe, sent an e-mail to that site to get the european version but they sent me a fake link that redirects it to the US map version:

www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/-/-/-/Default-Start?action=selectMfr&Language=en&continentId=EU

Has anyone be able to buy the european version without passing through a dealer ? Infiniti dealer in France just sent me an offer asking about 400 USD for upgrading.

Is this also the same firmware as before? I just got a 2010 G37 in November and they agreed to update the maps as part of the deal. I want to verify that it's been done. What map/firmware numbers does this newest version show?

Yeah I find it nearly impossible to justify the price as well especially considering these "updates" are often times still missing things that aren't even relatively new. That's why I made sure to get it added in to the purchase of the car. I figured it would have been a $100 thing...didn't know it actually would have cost me $250 to do it myself.

So are new maps going to be available in two months? Apparently my dealer never installed them for me like he promised (even after reminding him SEVERAL times before I arrived and again while I was there making the purchase). I don't want to ask for the update just yet if there is a new one just around the corner.

Santa Monica Infiniti had a black friday deal updating the maps for only $10. The map info shows version 2011-12 now.

PS. Map update is different from Navigation software update. You can get the software updated for free while you are under warranty.

The maps in my 2011 G37S vert have always been out of date - they show businesses that are long gone, etc.

$250 seems like a lot given that at this point I don't trust the GPS for anything except street addresses and roads, which are fine.

But for locating businesses or categories, I use my iPhone - it' much faster, has a better interface, and is much more accurate.

I have 2009 G37S Conv.

I emailed Navteq as to when the 2013 will be released. She would not give me a date as to encourage me to buy the current one but she said they are released every 12 to 18 months, so does anyone know when the 11-12 version was released?

My closest dealer (5 minutes away) quoted me $129 for install and a dealer 25 minutes quoted me $69 for the nav install. Will see if the closer one will price match.

Now that I am on both Infiniti and Navteq's mailing list I am hoping for a $99 promo for the activation.

So after reading through the post, pretty much the firmware for the NAVI unit is free but to update the map to 2012 is $250(that's what i see currently).

I'm guessing most ppl reading this post will wait until the 2013 update comes out.

Has anyone just upgraded the firmware and using the old map version? Please tell me how it is and if everything is working as designed. Also, know where I can download the firmware upgrade?
