Q on Nav

Used to own a 2004 G35. Next car I bought & currently own is a 08 TL. My TL allows me to use the nav screen while car is in motion. I am about to trade it in for a G37, but read about the inability to access the nav while driving. Is this true? This could be a deal breaker for me as I rely on my on screen directions & make many changes. After a brief search I noticed talk about a hack is forbidden. I respect that stand but can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to get around this? Just a yes or no is fine as I can do my own research.
Thanks for your reply as I really miss the G family & plan on getting another soon.

Before this thread is locked it is worth mentioning that you CAN use the Infiniti nav screen while the car is in motion, you just cannot manually input destinations while moving. That is what voice recognition is for. Anything else is inherently dangerous.

Theoretically yes, but there’s nothing stopping a driver from inputting destinations himself anyway while a passenger just sits there. Furthermore, a dead weight would do the trick. Even my 65 pound dog trips the passenger seat belt warning if he’s not strapped in.

Of course I understand your point, but my Acura has no restrictions & I'm still alive as are my fellow forum members.
BTW, I'm a responsible adult

Well, I wish you continued long life. But the fact that you never had a nav related accident in your Acura hardly proves anything. Sadly, there’s always a first time. IMO you and your family will be a bit safer in a G, so I hope you buy one.
